Last week, a group of armed men broke into Chris Brown's California home, held his aunt at gunpoint and ransacked the place. According to Brown's aunt (who is luckily okay) and to authorities, the men who broke in were looking specifically for a $50,000 cash payout the singer had received from a recent club appearance. At first, this led friends and law enforcement to the conclusion that a club promoter or someone with a connection to one was behind the invasion. Now, according to TMZ, the focus has shifted. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the LAPD has dispatched its gang unit to the case, believing that it was Bloods members close to Brown who were the perpetrators. Sources from the singer's camp say he has already excised dozens of members from his vast entourage.

Though his public image has been marred by a series of legal and personal mishaps--starting with, and still most notable the 2009 incident in which Brown apparently assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna--Brown's career in entertainment has continued, mostly unfettered. His team has announced that a new album is coming this fall, the follow-up to last year's X. That record sported contributions from Rick Ross, Usher, Trey Songz, R. Kelly, Akon, Brandy, Kendrick Lamar and Jhene Aiko, along with Lil Wayne and Tyga on the massively successful "Loyal." debuted at #2 on Billboard. Earlier this year, he dropped Fan of a Fan: The Album, a collaboration with Tyga, which was led by the single "Ayo" and its debauchery-filled video.
