With less than a week to go before Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, where the electronics giant is expected to unveil Apple Music, its long-awaited rival to digital music streaming standard-bearer Spotify, Tidal is making some notable moves of its own. The Jay Z-owned service announced today they would be rolling out a series of changes, including a desktop app. Unlike Spotify's interface, Tidal's includes exclusive video content, like the clip for Nicki Minaj and Beyonce's "Feelin' Myself" that was recently dropped on the service. (Some features, like the ability to store music in your library and play it when you don't have an Internet connection, are not yet ready, but the company says they'll be rolled out soon.) Also of note is a partnership with Ticketmaster, which will grant subscribers the ability to access exclusive concert tickets not available to the general public.

Perhaps most interestingly, Tidal says they are close to greenlighting a $4.99-per-month tier of service available to college students with an active .edu email account. This, presumably, is an attempt to keep up with the other major streaming services, all of whom top out in the $10-to-$15-per-month range; Tidal's signature product, high fidelity music on demand, currently runs $20.
