Apple Music is aggressively pursuing Kanye West to lock in some exclusive content for their streaming services platform. Apple will unveil its new streaming music service at its annual WWDC conference today. It was rumored that they would  be announcing an exclusive on Kanye West’s next album but according to BuzzFeed that rumor is false. Instead, Beats Electronics co-founder Jimmy Iovine—and now Apple employee ever since Apple acquired Beats for $3 billion in May 2014—is trying to get "limited or 'windowed' exclusives from some big-name artists," which includes Kanye West. Apple is particularly focus on landing an exclusive on West’s forthcoming album, which is tentatively titled “Swish.” 'Ye and Apple have been in talks for sometime but nothing has materialized. One of Iovine's roles for Apple is to be a liaison between the company and big name artists due to his exceptional background in the music industry. Kanye is also one of the owners of Jay Z's Tidal, the new artist-owned subscription music streaming service.

The music streaming service industry has been in the news lately a lot. Spotify, Pandora and Tidal are among some of the most popular. Apple is preparing to step into the competition as well, as they get ready to announce their new service. VentureBeat reports, Sony Music CEO Doug Morris spoke at the Midem Music Industry Festival in Cannes that Apple's service is a "tipping point" for the industry. "A rising tide will lift all boats," Morris said. "It's the beginning of an amazing moment for our industry."

Apple's new service will be available alongside iTunes. For $10 per month, users will have unlimited access to its music catalog. A source told Billboard that Apple's goal is to sign up 100 million subscribers for a new streaming service.
