Kendrick Lamar was on Power 106 L.A.’s J Cruz show and spat a verse that didn't make it onto his new album To Pimp a Butterfly. During the discussion, Kendrick revealed that one of the early album titles for the LP was How Much a Dollar Cost, but that eventually became the name of a song off the project. He explained how he made the song early in the recording process and when he "dug deeper" into the LP he realized what he wanted to talk about and it eventually turned into TPAB. It was previously reported that also he had another working title for the album. That title was Tu Pimp a Caterpillar.

When Cruz later asked K.Dot about a verse from a song that didn't make the album, the TDE spitta remembers one that didn't make the cut.

“I was just talking about the transition from being a kid in Compton and then being inside an after party with industry politics,” he said. The song was produced by Sounwave and Terrace Martin. K. Dot couldn’t remember the entire verse, but he still managed to spite a few bars.

The 12-minute interview is pretty interesting. Kendrick discussed his trip to South Africa, message behind To Pimp a Butterfly album title and the possibility of him appearing on Kanye West’s So Help Me God. Watch the interview below.

Kendrick will also be headlining Pemberton Music Festival. Along with him will be J.Cole, Kid Cudi, Missy Elliot and more. Peep the info below.
