Earlier this month, when Big Sean was apparently miffed by Justin Bieber creeping a little too close to Ariana Grande during a duet at the songstress's concert in Los Angeles, it was easy to write off as the watchful eye of a protective boyfriend. Now, it seems, things haven't been so simple. In a joint statement given to Us Weekly, reps for the two artists said that, while Sean and Ariana remain "close friends," dating simply became untenable. A source close to the couple told the magazine that the pair of pop stars "made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year," an explanation that is more than believable given the massive success each has enjoyed over the past 12 months. Sean and Grande had been a public item since last October.

But all is not so bad for the Detroit rapper. His third studio album, Dark Sky Paradise, has been met with a warm reception from his fanbase, debuting at #1 on Billboard and spawning several hits, including the Drake- and Kanye West-assisted version of "Blessed" for which the trio shot a video. In addition to those two, Sean has, in the past several years, collaborated with the most revered names in hip-hop, including Jay Z, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and more.
