It seems as if Suge Knight isn't quite as indiscriminate as we all thought. According to police reports obtained by The Daily Mail, Cle "Bone" Sloan, the man who was injured, but not killed by Suge Knight's car in a January altercation claimed to have assaulted Knight just prior to being struck by the mogul's Ford. These statements, made to police while Sloan was recovering from head wounds he sustained during the crash, could bolster Knight's claim that he was acting in self defense when he struck Sloan, and struck and killed Terry Carter. Knight has been charged with both murder and attempted murder.

The hit-and-run took place after what is believed to have been an argument on the Compton set of Straight Outta Compton, the biopic tracking the rise of N.W.A. According to the reports, Sloan told Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officers that he "fucked [Knight] up" before the fatal incident, which took place in front of a Tam's Burgers restaurant in Compton. Matthew Fletcher, Knight's lawyer, has argued that not only did Suge not leave his vehicle, but he was simply trying to flee from what he believed to be an armed assault. Sloan's statement to officers--that he approached Knight's vehicle, punching him through the driver's-side window and disallowing him to exit the truck--might support that claim in court.

It has also been revealed the late Carter placed a call to Knight approximately 19 minutes before police were called to Tam's. That conversation lasted little over one minute. Suge has entered a not guilty plea and is being held in custody without bail.
