Drake Is Being Sued by the Company Distributing ‘Homecoming: The Lost Footage’ Film

Drake has a new lawsuit on his hands. According to TMZ, SpectiCast, the company distributing the Homecoming: The Lost Footage film, is suing the Young Money rhymer for publicly disowning the film via Twitter on Monday (March 16). Drake's tweet read, "The Drake Homecoming film is not something OVO or Drake have any part in. I feel it is my responsibility to inform and protect my fans." According to SpectiCast, Drizzy only mentioned the film to promote his upcoming OVO Fest, with fans flocking to his page after the tweet.

The film's producers were considering a lawsuit earlier this week. According to them, Drake's insistence that the film is "unauthorized" violated an agreement he signed with the production company Serious Entertainment back in 2009. The agreement allowed Serious to film a concert at Toronto's Sound Academy in exchange for paying Drizzy $15,000 and guaranteeing him 15% of the film's profits if the footage was ever used.

Well it looks like the time for the footage to see the light of day has come and someone has to pay up. Homecoming: The Lost Footage shows scenes from Drake's sold out concert at the Sound Academy. The film compiles footage from SpectiCast's YouTube page that show Drizzy's pre-YMCMB days, as well as interviews with Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince and his son Jas Prince, who Drake says the former also has nothing to do with the upcoming film.

Homecoming hits theaters tonight (March 19) for a one-night limited showing.
