Kanye West Says Beck Should Give His Grammy To Beyoncé

Kanye West said that Beck should give his award for the Album of the Year for Morning Phase at the 2015 Grammys to Beyoncé.

"Beck needs to respect artistry, and he should’ve given his award to Beyoncé," West said appearing after the Grammys on E! . "If the GRAMMYs want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t fixing to play with them no more."

Earlier during the Grammys, 'Ye jokingly rushed the stage—a la his 2009 Taylor Swift interruption at MTV's Video Music Awards—after Prince presented Beck with the Grammy. Kanye didn't take the mic from the singer/song writer but instead walked back down to his seat and laughed. However, Yeezy later revealed he wasn't joking when he nearly crashed the stage ahead of Beck's album of the year speech. He continued on to voice his anger with the Grammys and added that he didn't interrupt Beck because of his family.

"Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration," said Kanye. "And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyonce album and they feel like it takes them to another place I'm not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That's the reason why I didn't say anything tonight, but you all know what it meant when Ye walked out on that stage!"

He also had Terrence Jenkins, Khloe Kardashian, Christina Milian and Zanna Roberts Rassi—the afterparty special co-hosts—remove the E! logo from their mics.

And then they do this promotional event, and they’ll run the music over somebody’s speech, the artist, because they want commercial advertising. We aren’t playing with them anymore. And by the way, I got my wife, my daughter, and I got my clothing line, so I’m not going to do nothing that would put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That’s why I didn’t say anything tonight, but you all knew what it meant when ‘Ye stepped on that stage.”
