On a day when the news cycle is dominated by his interview with Zane Lowe on the BBC—and when the public is still reeling from his flame-engulfed performance of "All Day"—Kanye West and his old label boss have quietly dropped the first 17 minutes of their first feature film. Loisaidas, a grim look at life in Harlem, is executive produced by West and Dame Dash, the former Roc-A-Fella chief who first believed the producer could hack it as a rapper. Scheduled to be parceled out into seven more episodes, Loisaidas is no documentary, skewing to the genre flick side of the ledger. Guest appearances come courtesy of Murda Mook, The Lox, Smoke DZA and Dame himself. The episode premiered on Complex.

Since the Roc split in the middle of the last decade, Kanye has been associated exclusively with Jay Z, with whom he sided during the protracted divorce. Still, his name crept into West's rhymes ("You know the next question, though--'Yo, where Dame at?'"), and the superstar has repeatedly likened himself to Dash. West is currently promoting his still-untitled seventh solo album, which is expected to be released in the first half of this year. In addition to "All Day," he has teased a song called "Wolves," which features the pop singer Sia and Chicago upstart Vic Mensa.
