Stream 2 Chainz’s ‘T.R.U. Jack City’ Mixtape

Take some time out your day and stream 2 Chainz's new mixtape T.R.U. Jack City. This is the first release from his The Real University label that Chainz started this past January. T.R.U. Jack City formally introduces the label's artists Cap 1, Skooly and Fresh aka Short Dawg plus features Young Dolph, Travis Porter, Kaleb, Greazzy, C. White, Skooly, and Peewee Longway. On the production side, Mike WiLL Made It, 808 Mafia, Zaytoven, DJ Spinz, and London On Da Track, among others lend their talents to the tape. Tity boi released some cuts off the tape already. “Keep It 100″ featuring Cap 1, Skooly, Short Dawg And Kaleb is a booming banger with witty lines for the tall MC such as “Pull up in the valet, it look like wings on my shit / Ain’t no activist, so I lean on my bitch.” “Road Dawg” is a head-banging track that brings Chainz back to his trap music roots. “Trap House Stalkin” featuring Cap 1 And Young Dolph teaches listeners about the do’s and don’t's of the trap. All three are quality records.

What T.R.U. Jack City does do most importantly is show hip-hop fans what they can expect from The Real University label. The chains enthusiast expressed his thoughts on why his label is not competing with already establish imprints like G.O.O.D. Music and YMCMB.

"Ahh, man," said Chainz to XXL. "We up in there, man. The names you naming, man, we can compete with that. You know what we got, man? We got some creative artists that are their own individuals, that's riding their own waves and got their own little fan base. They have their own confidence. They have their own swag. That's what I like, man. We all stay 15 minutes from each other. We still manage to record and do what we need to do. It's just refreshing, man."

Most recently, after his debate with Nancy Grace on HLN—who wants to have a rematch with him—2 Chainz told XXL that his supporters are calling for him to run for mayor of his hometown.

“I’m a musician, not a politician,” he said. “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.”
