Jay Z has co-signed a number of people and products over the years and now the rap mogul is putting his stamp on New York governor Andrew Cuomo's stance on bettering police relations in the Empire State. On Wednesday, Cuomo issued his State of the State speech where he outlined his plan to improve police and citizen relations in response to the much publicized Eric Garner case and dozens of others around the nation. Jigga was obviously watching. Recently releasing a statement on the SOTS, Jay called the package a progressive move. "The criminal justice reform package proposed by Governor Cuomo today is a huge step forward in restoring fairness, protection, sensitivity and accountability for all under our justice system," he wrote.

Though he has been mum on the recent cases, Hov recently stepped up, along with Russell Simmons, to press Cuomo about justice system reform. He also sparked a dialog with his recent remarks that rappers have done more for racial relations than most cultural icons.

Check out the rest of Jigga's statement and Cuomo's State of the State speech, below.

"I commend Governor Cuomo for his bold leadership in taking this issue head on at this critical time. This package presents comprehensive steps to protect and improve relations amongst all citizens. We cannot be divided, as every single human being matters. Together, we can move forward as a community, with mutual respect for each other and continue to make this great state stronger than ever before."
