Today, Jan. 19, marks the 35th birthday of Atlanta, Georgia artist, Lil Scrappy.

The rapper, born Darryl Kevin Richardson II, burst onto the scene in 2004 with "Head Bussa" and "No Problem," singles from The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Trillville & Lil Scrappy.

When he was finally given the green light to drop a solo album two years later, Scrappy capitalized. The 2006 album, Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live, was anchored by the hit single, "Money In The Bank," which featured Young Buck, Scrappy's boss at G-Unit South records. Scrappy's album and B.G.'s The Heart Of Tha Streetz, Vol. 2 (I Am What I Am) were the only two projects that the short-lived imprint released.

In recent years, Scrappy has been best known for his recurring role on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, where he appears alongside his ex-fiance Erica Dixon, with whom he has a daughter, Emani. Back in 2016, Scrappy proposed to his fellow LHHATL castmember, Bambi Benson, and since the couple has been married, they became the proud parents of a baby boy named Breland, whom they welcomed into the world on Sept. 21, 2018.

Aside from appearing on Love & Hip-Hop: Miami in 2018, Scrappy put out his most recent project, Confident, back in June, a 12-song offering of all solo tracks. The release broke a six-year drought for the "Money in the Bank," rapper whose previous release was the Gru$tle album in 2012.

Happy Birthday, Scrappy!
