Today, Jan. 20, marks the birthday of Brooklyn-bred rapper, Jo-Vaughn Scott, better known as Joey Bada$$. The talented MC and Pro-Era co-founder celebrates his 24th birthday today as well as the four-year anniversary of his long-awaited debut studio album, B4.Da.$$.

While he often reminisces on his money hungry days before fame, O.G. $wank has long since enjoyed the success of his come-up. His first mixtape, 1999, in 2012 grabbed the attention of fans, critics and fellow rappers almost immediately.

At the age of 17, Bada$$ was collaborating with Mac Miller, Juicy J, Ab-Soul and A$AP Rocky. On his second solo tape Summer Knights (2013), Joey honed his trippy storytelling skills further and subsequently earned a spot in XXL's 2013 Freshman Class.

In 2015, Bada$$ released B4.Da.$$ independently under Cinematic Music Group and the album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, selling over 50,000 in the first week. Joey's sophomore project A.A.B.A dropped last April. He also reprised his role on the USA Network's hacker-drama, Mr. Robot. To kick off 2018, he revealed that he has writing credits on Post Malone's hit song "Rockstar."

Through the years, Joey Bada$$ has been known to keep his personal life private, but this past June, the Brooklyn rapper pulled back the curtain and introduced the world to his newborn daughter, Indigo Raine, as he celebrated his first Father's Day as a dad.

Although 2018 was a relatively quiet year on the mic for Joey, save for appearing as a guest on occasional tracks like T-Pain’s “That’s Me” alongside Joe Budden or on Powers Pleasant's "Pull Up” with A$AP Ferg, he got a huge response back in the fall when he fired up fans in a tweet asking if they are ready for a new album.

Happy Birthday, Badmon!
