El-P And Killer Mike To Begin Work On ‘Meow The Jewels’

Men lie, women lie, year-end lists are generally pretty good. With their second collaborative record in two years, Run The Jewels 2, dominating every fan poll and critics' list, Killer Mike and El-P have a new lease on life (and maybe on a couple of cars as well). But they're still men of their words. As promised in the initial Run The Jewels Kickstarter campaign, the duo plans to deliver on their offer to remake the entire record using cat sounds as instrumentation.

The project (that quickly gained momentum under the name Meow The Jewels) was funded by fans and other artists, and it seems that it's finally coming to fruition. As per El-P's Twitter, the record--which Alchemist and Just Blaze have pledged to work on--will get underway this month.

The money raised will be donated to charity. Watch El-P audition cats below:
