With the relationship between police and citizens reaching a boiling point, more and more hip-hop artists are coming forward and discussing their interactions with police and race in America. Earlier today, Yelawolf joined Hot 97's "Ebro In The Morning" show and, discussed raising bi-racial children during a time when unarmed kids are being gunned down by police at an alarming rate.

"From my experience with the police---and I've been in some really bad situations with police--I've seen them be assholes, and I've seen them be cool," explained Yela. "The only experience I have and the only experience I can share is my own. I can watch and see things go down, but I can't apply that to myself because that's not the scenario I'm in, that's not the skin I'm in, that's not how I was raised. I was raised differently. How I would tell my own children is to tell them how I would handle it. Honestly, ever since I first got tackled and handled by police, it was that one time where I was like, 'Okay. I'm not going to win here.' So it's, 'Yes, sir. No, sir. Okay, sir. Thank you, sir. No problem sir.' You're not going to win that fight, you have to mentally control the situation."

Throughout the interview, Yelawolf also discussed tour life, the Confederate flag, his relationship with Eminem and how he's maturing as an artist and a human being. Check it out above and be on the lookout for a new project from Yelawolf in the first quarter of 2015.
