PRHYME: DJ Premier, Royce Da 5'9" & Adrian Younge by brtvofficial

Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier's new project PRhyme has been taking the hip-hop world by storm in the past few weeks, quickly becoming a candidate for album of the year and presenting an album that is both full of powerful beats (Preem used Adrian Younge's catalog exclusively to craft his production) and incisive, sharp-witted lyrics, not to mention guest spots from Jay Electronica, Killer Mike, ScHoolboy Q and Common, among others.

A few weeks ago, PRhyme performed for the first time ever for a select group of people gathered at Manhattan's famed Chung King Studios, captured by Boiler Room for their ongoing performance series. The event opens with a DJ set from Adrian Younge of classic hip-hop breaks and samples before Royce and Premier take over and perform songs off their self-titled LP. Following the performance, a panel moderated by Miss Info, Rob Markman, Datwon Thomas and Parfit from Ambrosia for Heads—interspersed in this video through the set—took place, with the trio of musicians answering questions about the project.
