News broke yesterday (Dec. 17) about an alleged arrest outside of Quad Studios in NYC involving Bobby Shmurda, his GS9 crew and EVP of Epic Records Sha Money XL. According to reports, the group's arrest was part of a long-term investigation that “centered on shooting and narcotics trafficking.”

Sha Money XL recently released a statement to Karen Civil to clarify his exact involvement in the entire incident. Read his statement below:

“I was not arrested. They held me until they searched the studio then let me go. I signed these kids to give them a better way in life not to be dragged down by the media and gunned down by the 40 cops that raided the studio and pointed guns at me for working my job. You have no idea how this makes me feel or look when I’m one of the only few black men signing black artist from the streets and giving them a chance to do better in life.”

Bobby Shmurda's indictment is expected to take place today (Dec. 18), where the official charges will be revealed and explained. XXL will continue to deliver speedy updates on the matter as soon as they're made available.
