After dropping My Name Is My Name in 2013, Pusha T cemented himself as one of the game's top solo artists and was widely applauded among the hip-hop community for dropping such a hard album. Since the release, Push has popped up sporadically on guest features and loosies and has been touting his follow up, King Push as another great album. With the surprise release of "Lunch Money," fans began to get excited that Pusha's next project was coming sooner rather than later.

"Aw, man, I'm working on [King Push] feverishly," Pusha T told Rolling Stone. "It's amazing. I feel like the sound will be second to none. And of course you already know the raps will be smacking people all left and right. I've been working on it constantly."

With plans to drop in the spring of 2015, 'Ye gave listeners a chance to hear what direction the album is going. "I dropped 'Lunch Money' to show how far out me and 'Ye are going to go, just sonically," he continued. "Now, I feel like people don't know where the hell I'm going to go on the next record. And that's where I want them to be."
