Update (Jan. 14, 1:41 p.m.): It looks like Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q have joined Gambino and blacked out their Twitter accounts. What's coming?

Original Story: If there's one thing we know definitively about Donald Glover, it's that he's not bound by convention. The 31-year-old Georgian, best known for his role on NBC's Community and for his rap career as Childish Gambino, has made a living moving strangely and furtively. Now, it seems he has vanished from the online world, his Twitter and other social media accounts vacant. In addition, the pages that housed his recent music and the screenplay that accompanied his 2013 album, Because The Internet, have been blacked out.

That album, perhaps coincidentally, was released last Dec. 10, which some have seen as a motivator—or at least benchmark—for Glover's disappearance. Others, however, have pointed to the similarities between Glover's black boxes and those used by protesters to pay tribute the Eric Garner, Michael Brow, and the other Black men and children killed by police of late.

This comes directly in the wake of the announcement that Glover's new TV show, Atlanta, has been given a pilot order by FX. The show, which has been in development for over a year and a half, is centered on the titular city's thriving rap scene.
