Yesterday, during an interview with on the Late Show with David Letterman, Andre 3000 spoke about his role on the newly released Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side, where he plays the rock legend Jimi Hendrix himself. During the interview, Andre admits that there were points during the shooting of the movie where he thought that he may have taken on "more than [he] could handle" by portraying Hendrix. Andre admittedly called Hendrix "the coolest person in the world."

Andre also said that he "grew up on rap" and he learned about Hendrix in his "late teens." Watch the rest of the interview above, and wait until the end when Letterman catches Andre making an embarrassing mistake when telling a story about Jimmy Hendrix.
