While most fans are familiar with Jay Rock as a part of TDE, many forget that it was Tech N9ne's Strange Music that originally saved Jay from Warner Bros. purgatory and helped put his album out. Jay Rock, who signed a deal with Strange Music back in 2010, released his album Follow Me Home and toured extensively with the imprint. During a sit down with Montreality, Tech N9ne was asked about Jay Rock and revealed that he is no longer signed with Strange Music and officially with TDE.

"Jay Rock is coming out on TDE, he's fully TDE now," said Tech N9ne in an interview with Montreality. "We did what were supposed to do for the homie and pushed him forward to get his album out because Warner Brothers wasn't doing it. Now Top Dawg is sizzling and are able to take Jay Rock and do what he's supposed to do on his next album. We salute Jay Rock and I told him, 'You better kill it muthafucka.' And I know he will."
