Missy Elliott and Timbaland had an integral role in curating the career of R&B singer Aaliyah and will be depicted in the upcoming Lifetime biopic about the late entertainer's career. The film, tentatively titled Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, has seen its share of setbacks with opposition from Aaliyah'a family and at least one actress backing out of the project. For now, the show is pushing forward with the recent of additions of actress Chattrisse Dolabaille and actor Izaak Smith now on board to play the roles of Missy and Timbo, respectively. While Dolabaille is a relative newcomer to the acting scene, Smith has appeared in “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” and “Mirror Mirror” as a dancer, as well as the Canadian series Tower Prep.

The Lifetime biopic is slated to air this fall. But it will have competition. It was recently revealed that a full length movie about the late singer is also in the works.
