G-Eazy’s ‘These Things Happen’ Lands At No. 3 In This Week’s Album Sales (07/02/2014)

You can't knock G-Eazy's hip-hop hustle. Last month, G released his independent album These Things Happen, which features his hit singles "I Mean It" and "Lotta That." This week, the Oakland rapper's LP sold 46,000 copies, which is considered his best week yet. It is also the second highest debut for an indie LP since 50 Cent's Animal Ambition, where he netted 47,000 copies in his first week.

Ab-Soul's latest album, These Days..., out of TDE didn't fare so well. The LP only sold 21,000 copies that landed him just shy of the No. 10 spot. Riff Raff's Mad Decent debut Neon Icon sold over 12,000 copies. Despite the low sales, Riff has been actively promoting the album on social media and has strong singles such as "Kokayne" and "How To Be The Man" supporting it.

Outside of the hip-hop world, British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran earns the No. 1 spot with X that opens with 210,000 copies. This is Sheeran's second effort, with the first being +.
