Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic may have more to worry about then the ever-changing role of it’s leading lady. According to Sister2Sister a feature film of the fallen songstress will soon be on the rise.

Next year Aaliyah fans can expect for her story to be told on the big screen. The movie will feature some of her classic tracks as well as some unreleased music.

“We’re in a position where we can do the feature film and we can do the music,” said a source close to production.

As for the actress chosen to play the “One in a Million” singer, they have cast singer  B. Simone. Other possible co-stars include Terrence Howard and Wood Harris.

Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager Barry Hankerson is working with scriptwriter and author Zane to produce the biopic. Unlike the made for TV movie, the family is involved in the project.

Those connected with the feature film don’t think the release of Lifetime’s  Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will alter the public’s interest in seeing their movie. According to a source, “I think if we do our due-diligence, people will watch the TV movie and still say, ‘I need to see the feature film.”
