Update (Dec. 5, 10:00 a.m.): Yesterday, with his mother, father, brothers, wife Helen Lasichanh, and son Rocket Man by his side, the 41-year old musician was introduced by Ellen Degeneres, and received his star. Congrats to Pharrell.

Remember those gold stars you'd get in school for good behavior? Well, when you're an adult certain people are given gold stars just for being dope and you can't spell dope without Pharrell Williams. The Grammy-Award winning artist has been chosen, along with 29 other celebrities, to have their names engraved in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"We know that the new selections represent the best of the entertainment industry, and will be a great addition to the Walk of Fame for both the Hollywood community and fans from around the world who visit Hollywood every year,” Maureen Schultz, Chair of the Walk of Fame selection committee for 2014-2015, said in a statement Thursday.

With an undeniable work ethic and a mind filled with creativity, honoring Williams with a gold star seems like a just fit. This year alone, Williams has managed to strike up a collaborative deal with Adidas, perform on countless stages, release a digital book, and was even honored with the key to Virginia Beach.
