Besides dropping four albums and touting a Grammy, Lupe Fiasco still deals with a significant amount of criticism. Maybe it's self inflicted, but Lupe has always been one to speak his mind. The conscious rapper will be putting out his fifth album entitled Tetsuo & Youth within the next few months, with "Mission" serving as his first single. He spoke with Katie Couric on a slew of topics ranging from President Obama, to his own religious beliefs. In the promo clip, Lupe touched on the difficulty of being rapper and a Muslim and whether the two often clash against each other.

"We're human," Fiasco says when asked about being Muslim. "We have faults. We make mistakes. That's what religion is for, to help you correct your mistakes."

The rapper recently revealed that his fifth album will consist of only 12 songs. Fans will be able to hear collaborations from Lupe with Big Krit, Rick Ross, and recently reported, Chris Brown and Ab-Soul.

The full interview with Katie Couric will air tomorrow (June 11th). Check out the promo clip below.
