Dr. Dre Offered A Key To The City Of Compton

Dr. Dre has had a better week than just about anyone else in the world and now he is being offered a key to his hometown city of Compton, California. Dre recently sold Beats Audio to Apple for a pending $3.2 billion and the mayor of Compton, Aja Brown, is now looking to honor the good doctor with a commemorative key.

According to TMZ, Mayor Brown has reached out to Dre's camp and says she's asking Dre to help restore the city, saying, "It would be great if Dre got involved in sponsoring performance arts or music programs in Compton." Apparently, whether Dre wants to get involved in charitable efforts or not, the key to the city is his for the taking.

If he accepts the prestigious offering, Dre would join fellow Compton native DJ Quik who was given a key to the city for his charitable efforts in the city.
