Even though Puff Daddy only graced the Howard Campus for a short period of time before venturing into the music industry, his love for the prestigious school runs deep. In honor of his love for his alma mater, Howard University named him their commencement speaker for their 146th ceremony this May.

Despite Puff never being able to don his cap and gown, he’ll be able to be voice his story to 1800 graduates on May 10th. In a press release, interim President Wayne Frederick had this to say about the former Bison student:

"In selecting the individuals who will be awarded honorary degrees, Howard University continues the tradition of identifying leaders whose work has clearly contributed to the advancement of their fields and the world," Frederick said. "We are honored to have Mr. Combs serve as our speaker. He sat in classrooms where our students sit, walked 'The Yard,' and like many students, his entrepreneurial spirit was sparked at Howard. We know he will inspire our class to work hard and to always strive for excellence."-

In addition to being a speaker, he will also receive an honorary doctorate in humanities at the ceremony.Carl Lamarre
