As part of the continuing celebration of the 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking debut album Illmatic, Nas returned to Coachella for the second weekend of shows. After surprise appearances from Jay Z and Diddy during his set last weekend, he upped the ante this trip with one of Jersey’s finest, Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Nas broke from his Illmatic themed show to give the fans a treat. The duo who toured together in 2012, shared some classics with the thousands in attendance. Nas played hype man for Ms. Hill as she ripped through The Fugee’s “Ready Or Not”. They followed up with “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That),” their 1996 Kurtis Blow-inspired collaboration from Nas’ It Was Written.

Now that Coachella has wrapped for this year, fans of Nas on the big stage can look forward to seeing him at Summer Jam. He was recently announced has one of the acts on the stadium stage for Hot 97’s annual blow-out.-G. Valentino Ball
