[UPDATED 4/15/14 at 3 p.m.]  Flavor Flav has admitted to chasing his girlfriend's son with a kitchen knife during an argument at Flav's Las Vegas home in October 2012. Flav was facing 12 years behind bars for felony assault charges, but the charges was reduced to misdemeanor offenses when the judge heard he had reconciled with his family.

He was sentenced at Clark County District Court to probation and four months of domestic violence counseling. If he violates probation, he could face up to a year in county jail.

Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav dodged a bullet in his domestic violence case. The 55 year-old renowned hype-man and former reality star, is prepared to take a plea deal that would allow him to avoid a trial in Las Vegas.

The incident stems from his relationship with his longtime girlfriend’s seventeen year old son, in which he allegedly chased and threatened him with a butcher knife dating back to 2012.

The prosecutor and defense attorneys have now came forth unveiling that Flav is scheduled to take the plea deal today in Clark County District Court. No details in regards to the deal were provided as of now.

Flav, was prepping to walk into court April 28th, facing felony assault and child endangerment with a weapon, all mounting to possibly 12 years in prison for the rapper.

Last year, Flavor Flav was inducted alongside Public Enemy into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.-Carl Lamarre
