Nas Is Rereleasing ‘Illmatic’

As per Nasir Jones, the legendary MC announces The Year of Illmatic XX, which will celebrate the album that made him an icon.

Illmatic XX is a special 20th Anniversary Edition of the widely debated hip-hop classic and is slated to be liberated on April 15 via SONY Legacy. The exclusive collection will feature a number of rare remixes, previously unreleased demos and freestyles.

In conjunction with the release, A feature length documentary film that examines the album called Time Is Illmatic will be released in 2014. It will be run by One9 (director/producer) and Erik Parker (writer/produer). Time Is Illmatic is supported by The Ford Foundations’ Just Films and Tribeca All Access.
