Update: Lil Boosie's release date his been moved up sooner than expected. See our updated story here. Our original story is below.

Lil Boosie is coming home sooner than his fans anticipated.

The Baton Rouge rapper—real name Torrence Hatch—is listed with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections under a release date of Aug. 18, 2014, according to NOLA.

Boosie’s release has been a hot topic of discussion in the hip-hop community. Journalist Jeff Weiss, who covered his life behind bars extensively for Rolling Stone and SPIN, indicated in September that his release would be just a few months away. Rick Ross supported that claim during his interview with The Breakfast Club, saying, “They telling me November, he’ll be coming home.” Then adding, “I’m a put a bag on the table for that boy…You never know.”

Pam Laborde, who is the communications director with the Lousiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, says Boosie will remain under close supervision through Jun. 17, 2018.
