It's hard to deny that in the history of music videos, Eminem is one of the greatest artists of the medium. Since Eminem first showed up on our television screens with a sneer and his trademark radioactive blonde mop, his videos have consistently turned in some of the funniest and provocative visuals in the business. 13 years since "My Name Is" assaulted the music video countdowns, a new Eminem video remains a must-watch experience.

As we continu to celebrate the release of Eminem's eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, XXL is looking back at the 15 best videos in Eminem's career.

15. Eminem – “Just Don’t Give A Fuck” (1999)

Before he became “Can’t Take A Crap In A Public Bathroom” famous, Eminem was still working out-the-kinks on his Slim Shady persona. On "Just Don't Give A Fuck," this black-and-white clip gives a glimpse at Em’s nascent evil twin personality as Slim terrorizes the hapless denizens of a trailer park. Aliens, evil clowns and people eating watermelons join Slim in the fray in this chaotic low-budget video.

14. Eminem – “Berzerk “ (2013)

With VHS tape deck fuzz and '80s hip-hop spirit animal Rick Rubin roaming the premises, Eminem’s latest and greatest video clip finds Marshall Mathers paying homage to the Beastie Boys classic clip for “So What’cha Want” right down to the Beastie’s photo negative blur.

13. Eminem – “Ass Like That” (2004)

While nobody is going to accuse “Ass Like That” to be one of the finer songs in Eminem’s impressive discography, there is a certain insane stupidity to the song’s puppet-infested music video that makes it wildly amusing. Famously featuring Eminem long-time "nemesis" TriumphThe Insult Comic Dog, “Ass Like That” enters an evil Muppet world of sex-offense-feuled debauchery. Also, Paulie Shore shows up.

12. D12 – “My Band” (2004)

It’s hardly news to know that Eminem's popularity dwarfs both the notoriety of his group, D12. The Motown rappers decided to address the issue head on in this classic video for D12’s “My Band.” Eminem and the rest of D12 skewer this perception in this hilarious joint about the group’s massive fame disparity between the group and with their most famous member.

11. Eminem – 3 a.m. (2009)

A glimpse at the lyric sheet of any given Eminem song shows that he has a certain obsession with the gruesome crimes of notorious serial killers. In this gritty, blood-soaked video for Eminem’s “3 a.m.,” you can find Em re-enacting his movie slasher fantasies as a deranged killer stalking your local campsite. Not for the squeamish.

10. Eminem – “Space Bound” (2011)

While Eminem’s videos are usually not known for their sense of subtlety, Eminem’s “Space Bound” is unexpectedly beautiful in it's quiet restraint. Co-starring famed adult actress Sasha Grey as Em's paramour, the video tells the doomed story of love gone bad that feels remarkably haunting.

9. Eminem Feat. Rihanna - "Love The Way You Lie"

There is a certain power in pop singer Rihanna appearing in a video that so frankly depicts the consequences of a relationship spiraling into domestic violence. While some might argue that the use of Rihanna, a famous victim of domestic abuse herself, is exploitative, the video for "Love The Way You Lie," is anything but. Eminem and Rihanna is simply a tour-de-force that is enhanced by the singer's presence.

8. Eminem - "Mockingbird" (2004)

In this lullaby dedicated to his daughters, Eminem employs the use of home videos to touching effect. The videos showing Em and his family in better times is poignantly contrasted to "Mockingbird's" somber strains highlight a life full of regrets. A beautiful affair.

7. Eminem Feat. Dr. Dre- Guilty Conscience (2000)

Employing state-of-the-art (at the time...) Matrix-esque bullet-time photography, Eminem and Dr. Dre war for the soul of three hapless ne'er do wells.

6. Eminem - "Like Toy Soldiers" (2004)

After Proof was gunned down in events that are disturbingly similar to the events depicted in the video, it does not take a psychiatrist to grasp the full weight and tragic irony of "Like Toy Soldiers." Watching Eminem's best friend, Proof, on-screen death in the video achieves a level of poignancy especially when you consider the D12 rapper would die in horrifyingly similar circumstances . A decade later, Proof's death only highlights the needed urgency of Em's message of peace and being the better man.

5. Eminem – “Without Me” (2002)

Gag for gag, “Without Me” might be the single funniest video in Eminem’s vast videography. Jam-packed with jokes, pop culture references and colorful costume changes, "Without Me" continues to cause unrestrained guffaws a decade later.

4. Eminem - Cleanin' Out My Closet (2002)

A video as emotionally raw as "Cleanin' Out My Closet" is a rare thing even for an artist as prone to unchecked, confessional honesty as Marshall Mathers. Depicting Em's deteriorating and abusive relationship with his mother in stark details, "Cleaning Out My Closet" gives a stark visual to Em's personal life.

3. Eminem - My Name Is (1999)

One part statement of purpose. One part cracked-out, evil funhouse. Eminem's "My Name is" was an instant pop culture phenomenon when it hit the airwaves in 1999. Creating the classic Eminem video formula of colorful Burton-esque sets, wild costumes and gross-out humor, Em's "My Name Is" a classic of refined juvenilia.

2. Eminem Feat. Dido - Stan (2000)

The clip for "Stan" transforms the raving of deranged fan to it's logical horror movie extreme. "Stan" performed gamely by actor Devon Sawa gives an unhinged, sweaty performance as an aspring Slim Shady slowly spinning into madness. The song is arguably Eminem's crowning achievement and the video is as equally as haunting.

1. Eminem - The Real Slim Shady (2000)

Released at the absolute height of his popularity, the video for "The Real Slim Shady" is perfected template of Eminem's irrepressible irreverance. Delightfully cartoonish without descending into cheesy self-parody, "The Real Slim Shady" revels in sophomoric humor skewering 2000s pop culture staples such as Britney Spears, boy bands, Pamela Anderson and Tom Green. Eminem poked fun at pop culture with skewers before and would after but "The Real Slim Shady" is the best in Eminem's video vault.
