Brazilian Rapper MC Daleste Shot Mid-Performance, Now Pronounced Dead

Popular Brazilian artist MC Daleste was pronounced dead early Sunday morning after succumbing to a gunshot wound he suffered while performing the prior evening. Stricken mid-show, the funk artist immediately collapsed causing chaos all around the building.

The mishap, which was caught on tape, has now reached over 4 million views on YouTube. The recording depicts Daleste giving an energy-driven performance before being shot in the midst of addressing the crowd. Hitting him in the abdomen, the 20-year-old immediately fell back in a sitting position as others rushed to his aide.

Occurring in the city of Campinas at a public housing building, no information has been released regarding possible suspects or if any arrests have been issued.

"I hope God gives strength to the family, friends, and fans of my good friend MC Daleste, a guy who only wanted to convey joy to everyone through his music. It is a pity that the peace which we dream of, we often only get when we close our eyes”, wrote a grieving friend on a Facebook page attributed to the performer. –Miranda Johnson
