Last night marked another legendary Summer Jam tailor-made for hip-hop's history books. Hot 97’s annual concert celebrated its 20th year in a big, big way. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Lil Kim and more were just a few names in the list of surprise guests throughout the evening. True to its importance, this year’s show also boasted prominent rap stars, as well as a few controversial moments that couldn't go unnoticed. A$AP Ferg Disses Teyana Taylor On New Song Off Trap Lord

A$AP Ferg's set on Summer Jam's Festival Village stage took a weird turn when Fergenstein took some unprovoked shots at G.O.O.D. Music signee Teyana Taylor. "You know who got big tits? Teyana," he rapped. "Sucked on 'em when I lived out in Harlem/Got signed by Pharell and started acting like a prima donna." Ferg later took to his Twitter to try and diffuse the situation, tweeting "Aye don't take what I said about @teyantaylor serious she's like a sis to me and I got mad love for her. Another rising star from Harlem!"

Jay-Z And Beyoncé Attend Summer Jam

After a movie date in Manhattan, Jay-Z and Beyonce went across the river to New Jersey, where they were spotted heading into Metlife stadium. Rumors instantly started circulating that Jay would come out during Kendrick Lamar's set to perform their remix to "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe," but Hov never took the Summer Jam stage. Apparently the evening's guests of honor were content with just being spectators.

Miguel And Mariah Carey Perform "#Beautiful"

Throwing an R&B act onto the Summer Jam stage is always risky, but when you throw a killer performer like Miguel on there he knows just what to do with it. After catering to the swooning ladies with hit after hit ("Adorn," "Pussy Is Mine"), he told the women in the house how beautiful they were and brought out Miss Mariah for their duet, aptly titled "Beautiful". Wale Brings Out Meek Mill

As if his set wasn't enough, jumping into fan-favorites ("Rack City (Remix)," "Slight Work") and female-entrancing ballads ("Lotus Flower Bomb," "Bad") Wale upped the ante for his Summer Jam performance when he brought out his MMG buddy Meek Mill, who ended up having one of the biggest pops of the night. He walked in with "Dreams & Nightmare (Intro)" and left after putting the NY crowd up on the levels to this shit. When Chis Brown hit the Summer Jam stage, the screams were loud enough to be heard from across the river in NYC. Dude's clearly a born performer, but he still had to pull out some surprises in honor of the SJ tradition. Fabolous And Lil Kim Rep For Brooklyn

With the crowd good and warmed up, Brooklyn's own Fabolous hit the stage with home-field advantage. His set was consistent and solid, but its best moment was no doubt a guest appearance from the Queen Bee herself, Lil' Kim. There'd been rumors of her hanging out backstage before Fab's set, but the crowd definitely didn't expect her to grace the stage, even some audience members were crying. Wu-Tang Clan Celebrates Their 20th Anniversary At Summer Jam

To see the Wu-Tang Clan up on the stage at Summer Jam XX was fantastic. For their 20th Anniversary, the original members alongside ODB son Young Dirty Bastard, performed in front of a monstrous crowd some of their greatest hits such as "C.R.E.A.M" and "M.E.T.H.O.D. Man" and "Ice Cream." The energy was electric, the W's was in the air and everyone got a front row seat to 90's hip-hop's most important act.—Emmanuel C.M.

2 Chainz Premieres Pharrell-Produced Single, "Feds Watching"

2 Chainz hyped up his Summer Jam performance by tweeting a few days before about premiering a new single. During his set—which included big cuts such as “Crack,” “Spend It” and “No Lie”—he called on the DJ to spin his “new shit.” “Feds Watching” is produced by Pharrell and is carries a slightly different vibe than his previous anthems. The hook states Chainz is “fresh as hell, let the feds watch” over some bouncy production. Coming off his Grammy-nominated album, Based On A T.R.U. Nicki Minaj Shows Love To Hot 97

Nicki Minaj caused quite a stir at last year’s Summer Jam for suddenly pulling herself as the main event. If you remember, Peter Rosenberg made some comments about her dance-pop single “Starships,” and it caused a ripple effect that also had all of YMCMB canceling their performances.

A$AP Rocky has paid tribute to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on various occasions—from freestyles to bringing them out during his concerts. Summer Jam was no different as A$AP paid homage to the rap group that helped him master his rapid-fire flow. A$AP Ferg’s “Work” is still one of the hottest tracks to come out of Harlem. Recently, Ferg added Trinidad Jame$, ScHoolboy Q, French Montana and A$AP Rocky to the remix. Although it would have been amazing to see Montana come out to show support for Ferg, the three other MCs took the stage by storm. Was Drake Supposed To Perform "Started From The Bottom"?

Summer Jam is pretty similar to an awards show, in that just about every elite and relevant hip-hop artist makes an appearance. From Wayne to Rozay to Chris Brown to Wu-Tang, everyone either hit the stage or hung out backstage, except for one very notable Canadian. At the peak of the night, before Kendrick Lamar's co-headlining set, the house DJ played Drake's "Started From The Bottom" and suddenly all 20,000 fans in the crowd expected Drizzy to hit the stage, but to no avail. TDE And A$AP Mob Wild Out On Stage

The star of the show, Kendrick Lamar, did not disappoint. Before he could get the mic from A$AP Rocky, the rain started to come down heavily. As the rain fell, Kendrick performed, hypnotizing the crowd to stick it out through the storm literally as he performed hits off his debut album Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City in the downpour. He was not alone though, as the whole Black Hippy/TDE team got to hit the stage, each performing a song. The special moment though happened when TDE and A$AP Mob crashed the stage together as Lamar performed "m.A.A.d. City." Papoose Invades Summer Jam

Like it or not, you have to respect the hustle of Papoose. Shortly after Kendrick Lamar finished up his set, Pap jumped on stage for a surprise performance. The thing is, nobody signed off on the BK spitter to appear before the night’s main event. He performed the new Ron Browz-assisted “Get At Me,” off his new album The Nacirema Dream, to little fanfare. Fans and industry insiders deemed Pap’s performance the awkward moment of the night. Lil Wayne Electrifies Summer Jam With "Pop That"

The MetLife Stadium is still shaking this afternoon, after Wayne touched down on that grand Summer Jam stage last night. Erupted was the perfect way to describe the crowd's reaction after the words, "Bi-tch, stop talking that shit..." were bellowed out of the stadium speakers with Weezy eventually rushing the stage to perform his "Pop That" verse alongside French Montana and Rick Ross. It turned into a madhouse, as the clamor from the crowd's excitement almost eclipsed Tunechi's voice on the mic. Montana called it from the jump during the commencement of his set, telling NY that he was about to "shut shit down," because after bringing out DJ Khaled and Ace Hood (who performed "Bugatti"), Rick Ross and Tunechi—there was nothing else left to be said. French Montana had the crowd going absolutely nuts. While performing "Pop That," he brought out Rick Ross and Lil Wayne to perform their respected verses on the song. The crowd was in a uproar, everyone was up on their feet. The beat dropped for "Ain't Worried About Nothin'" to much of the crowd's pleasure. Then, the unexpected happened. A Boost Mobile commercial comes on the big screen, all microphones are cut off and the lights slowly come on.
