Michael Clervoix—better known as Sha Money XL—has left his position as SVP of A&R for Island Def Jam and been named EVP of Urban A&R for Epic Records.

In an announcement posted on Billboard, Sha Money will oversee artist development and their recording process. He will also help build Epic’s urban roster with fresh talent.

Epic chairman and CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid released this statement about Sha Money: “Sha Money has time and again proven to be a cultural leader and has my complete support in ushering in the next generation of hip-hop stars.”

Sha Money commented on his new position: “As I embark on this new Epic journey. I have a great vision for what the new record industry should be like, the music, the experience and lifestyle."

While at his time in Island Def Jam, he was responsible for spearheading artists 2 Chainz and Big K.R.I.T.
