Lil Wayne has come out unscathed after the public outcry over his line referencing Emmett Till in the initial version of Future’s “Karater Chop (Remix).” That all may change soon. According to a report by AllHipHop, Till’s family members plan to pressure the rapper’s sponsors, namely Mountain Dew, into possibly dropping the rapper over the lyrics.

In the now infamous verse, the Young Money boss raps, “Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till,” referring to the teen who was brutally beaten to death for whistling at a white woman in 1955. A simple apology from the rapper may have quelled the Till family’s hard feelings. But according to a recent statement from the family, Weezy’s total lack of remorse has forced their hand and they are moving forward with plans to address, Moutain Dew, which is a product of PepsiCo. Similar tactics were used by the women’s rights group, UltraViolet, to get Rick Ross ousted as a spokesman for Reebok after he rapped about date rape on Rocko’s recent track, “U.O.E.N.O.” Rozay was reportedly due to earn $3.5-$5 million in the deal with the shoe giant.
