Atlanta police have issued a warrant for Gucci Mane’s arrest after he allegedly assaulted a soldier during a club appearance.

Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri reports the soldier was looking to take a picture with Gucci when he suddenly attacked him. Photos have surfaced of the soldier’s head with a deep laceration, which was caused by a champagne bottle.

The soldier, who wanted to only go by his first name James, says he asked a security guard at the VIP section of Harlem Nights for a photo opportunity with Gucci.

"I'm in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, is it OK?" he said. "I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle."

He continued, "And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.”

James was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital for his injury. He needed to have 10 stitches. He also had a concussion and suffered from bad headaches.

"That is dangerous because if there was to be any other fan trying to approach him, ain't no telling what else he might do to them," James said. "He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career.”

According to Lt. Jeff Cantin of the Atlanta Police Department, there is an active warrant for his arrest.
