Beanie Sigel pleaded guilty for drug possession and was sentenced to up to two years, according to a report by the Daily Times.

Sigel is currently serving time in prison for tax evasion. On Wednesday, the rapper—born Dwight Grant—admitted to illegally possessing Percocet, which is a misdemeanor charge that contains a county prison sentence of six-to-23 months. He has been in jail since his arrest on August 29, following a traffic stop in which police found him in possession of prescription drugs. The car was driven by co-defendant Gerald Andrews, who was seen swerving in lanes and following another vehicle too closely.

Although Sigel was not driving, he was asleep in the passenger seat during the time of the stop. Police searched the vehicle and found a bottle of codeine syrup, unspecified prescription pills hidden in a cigarette pack and nearly $4,500 in cash. (Sigel claimed he won the amount at a casino.)

There was also a loaded .38-caliber handgun in the car. Since both men are convicted felons who cannot be in possession of firearms, they were arrested for “charges of drug possession, possession with intent to deliver, persons not to possess firearms and firearms not to be carried without a license and conspiracy.”

The rapper’s attorney is hoping he can serve his two sentences at the same time. “Mr. Grant has been a successful entertainer and musician in the Philadelphia community for decades," attorney Carson Morris told the court yesterday. "Obviously, he's had an incredible amount of success and opportunity in his life. He's also made some mistakes, which have ended up putting him in custody. He's ready to go ahead and put that behind him and move on with is life."
