Jay-Z and Kanye West have settled a federal lawsuit over their song "Otis," reports TMZ.

The Throne was sued last October by Syl Johnson for using an unauthorized sample of his song "Different Strokes." Johnson claimed Yeezy attempted to get the song cleared for his solo album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but couldn't get it done in time. Still, somehow the song then appeared on his collaborative set with Jay, Watch the Throne, prompting Johnson to file a lawsuit.

But in legal documents filed in Illinois federal court this week, it states the lawsuit was dismissed because the two sides reached a settlement, though no further details were made available.

This isn't the first time Johnson sues an act over the unauthorized use of his music; he's previously sued Michael Jackson, Jefferson Airplane and Cypress Hill, reports the entertainment site. -Gina Montana
