Drake Says He Didn’t Promise “Marvin’s Room” Girl Royalties

Drake has finally spoken up in response to the young lady that is suing him for the use of her voice on the song "Marvin's Room" off of his latest LP, Take Care.

The Toronto rapper/singer is being sued by a woman named Ericka Lee, who provided the voice of the girl on the voicemail for the above-mentioned song and says Drizzy promised her co-writing credit and split of the profits of the song. She also claims that Drake, who she say she had a romantic relationship with for more than a year between 2010 and 2011, texted her saying the song was "shit without you."

But Drake filed his response last week, saying he never promised her any money and that "she consented to the use of her voice in the song 'Marvin's Room' for no compensation." Drake also denies the two ever had an intimate affair and that he never threatened her over complaints about getting paid for the song, which Lee also alleged.

In her suit, Lee claims Drake warned her that if she didn't back off about payment ... he had "people" who  would take care of “issues like her.”  But Drake's rep says, "This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct."

A judge has yet to rule in this case. —Gina Montana
