According to several sources close to  Beyoncé, Mrs. Jay-Z gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl on Saturday (January 7).

After various reports that Bey had given birth already in previous weeks, it appears Bey had a C-section to deliver her first born at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City late evening, where the couple reportedly paid $1.3 million to have the entire fourth floor to themselves.

A hospital staffer told the New York Daily News that a very pregnant B checked into the upper East Side hospital Friday night under the name “Ingrid Jackson." According to E! News, Jay is apparently telling his friends her name is Blue Ivy Carter.

"Welcome to the world princess Carter!" singer and pal of the couple Rihanna tweeted. "Love Aunty Rih." Russell Simmons also tweeted, "congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z," while Diddy posted, "Congrats to Jay and B! God Bless. :) ! And many more!"

The Daily News also reports that people were seen bringing bags of takeout and a dozen bottles of red wine to the hospital on Saturday. Doctors and nurses were barred from entering the fourth floor after 11 p.m. and had to turn in cell phones when they arrived for their shifts in an effort to keep images from leaking to the public. Hospital workers even placed tape over security cameras, a source told the paper.

Several security guards were also spotted patrolling the perimeter of the outside of the hospital on Saturday night. —Gina Montana
