Billed as “a means to enhance attention on Washington, D.C.’s array of talent and to promote music business knowledge among participants,” the gathering was to feature panel discussions, an artist showcase and a fashion show. Planned panel topics included sampling and other legal issues, producing hit records, and designing cohesive airplay strategies. Disturbing Tha Peace CEO Chaka Zulu and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J.Prince were among the industry players scheduled to speak. According to event partner Omen Entertainment, the summit was rescheduled in an effort to bring attendees the best conference possible.
