Kembe X is not one to be slept on. Currently working on the follow-up to his 2017 self-titled project, the Chicago rapper released the video for his new single "Goofass" on Friday (May 4).

The versatile rhymer goes in on this one with hard-body bars over a boom-bap soundtrack, making for a grimy-sounding cut. X doesn't hold any punches. "You know my process, I speak my mind, I raise my fist/I spill my soul if you don't feel it, nigga fuck you suck my dick," he snaps. "You know my M.O., it's putting O-N, taking my chisel working magic sculpting circles while you get N-Os/You know my style, shit on 'em in general, Colin Powell/Army strong G.I. Joe these niggas Barbie dolls."

The dark visual is directed by Yellow Nguyen and finds X in a dimly-lit room that is covered in various photos and magazine articles. Most of the pages are about politics and religion, which lends to the underlying message of the recording. The "Boomin" rapper's motions are accented with eye-catching visual effects that carry on throughout the running time.

Previous to his 2017 offering, he put out the album Talk Back in 2016, which featured appearances from Zacari P and frequent collaborator Alex Wiley, and production from The Antydote, Bentley Hazelwood, Hippie Sabotage, DJ FU, and Crooklin.
