Joey Purp Tackles Drake’s “Gyalchester” Beat For New Song “Gucci Link”
Joey Purp is proving to be top tier with his bar game, and now the rapper's put out his own remix of Drake's "Gyalchester" track. The Save Money member released his freestyle over the track on his Soundcloud page, and you can listen to "Gucci Link" below.
Just yesterday afternoon, the Chicago native decided to ask his followers as to whether he should remix the popular More Life record from the Toronto rapper and release it. Once his growing supporters gave him the green light to do so, it only took less than 12 hours for his freestyle to hit the e-streets. On the new record, Purp can be heard flipping the original hook by Drizzy, which chants, "Hermes link, ice blue mink," and remixing it into his own by spitting, “Gucci link, polo sheets.” The Midwest MC then spits some braggadocios raps, and rhymes about wanting to acquire more money without becoming overwhelmed by obsession.
Joey recently teamed up with A-Trak to remix Phantogram's "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" record, and even joined Vic Mensa to star in Kami's "Home Movies" video last year.
