XXL Freshman 2016 is coming and the freshman hopefuls are gearing up to possibly make this year’s class. With the 10th Spot voting happening now, we have to let the potentials tell us why they should appear on this year’s cover.

Next up is Maryland MC Jay IDK. The "Dirty Scale" rapper released his SubTrap LP in the fourth quarter of last year. With his raps focusing on the struggles of life and his upbringing, Jay's rhymes have been praised by the hip-hop community for its in-depth content and raw lyrics. Known for his eclectic mix of "Ignorance with Consciousness" music, Jay looks to continue bringing the raw music that's gained him a respectable fan base. Watch above as Jay tells us why he should appear on the coveted XXL Freshman list.

The XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class.
