Jay IDK's Pitch for 2017 XXL Freshman

The 2017 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer and now the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th spot voting is happening now, so each of the potential Freshman are letting you know why they should appear on the 2017 XXL Freshman cover.

Jay IDK is another example why the DMV is having a great moment in hip-hop right now. The budding MC, who hails from Prince George’s County, Md., has released two critically acclaimed projects with 2015's Subtrap and 2016's The Empty Bank. Jay made a name for himself in 2015, with his breakout single “God Said Trap,” which got over 1 million plays on SoundCloud.
