According to James Blake, the follow-up to his 2013 critical darling Overgrown is "about 70 percent done." But the British singer and producer is still holding out for one more collaboration: Kanye West.

In an interview with the Miami New Times, Blake talked at length about his writing process (lyrics first), the post-dubstep electronic scene ("failing miserably"), and the role of race in pop music. But toward the end of the conversation, Yeezus popped up, as he always does. "I have a lot of respect for [Kanye], for what he's been releasing for years," said Blake. While the two "haven't done a great deal of work in the same room yet," the singer has picked a specific track for Mr. West to jump on.

Blake is no stranger to the hip-hop world—RZA worked on Overgrown, and there's the well-documented friendship with Chance the Rapper—but a Kanye duet would be a prime opportunity for each artist. Blake's as-of-yet untitled LP is due in the first half of 2015.
