Newly minted Dreamville Records signee J.I.D has just come through with a cyber gift bag for all of his fans. Today (March 6), the rising East Atlanta rapper unveiled the tracklist for his project The Never Story, while also dropping "D/Vision," a single from the project. You can see the album cover above and grab the song on iTunes right now.

The J. Cole-produced "D/Vision," which features verses from EarthGang, is the fifth track on The Never Story. J. Cole really put in work on the instrumental, which sounds as smooth and bleak as "Never," another track from J.I.D's forthcoming project. Cole's got production on the outro too.

With his vivid street imagery and tone of voice, J.I.D has been compared to Kendrick Lamar during his come-up in the rap game. He commented on the comparison when XXL interviewed him for The Break series a little while back.

“I get comparisons but I feel like when something is new you have to make it feel familiar to you in some type of way," he explained. "I’ve gotten a few comparisons like Kendrick [Lamar], just because of vocal tones and Anderson .Paak for the same reason. I describe my music as just like a cluster fuck of good shit. I don’t try to make one thing, I really try to experiment, even if its just the vocals or the beat. I can’t really describe my sound.”

You can check out the tracklist for J.I.D's The Never Story and a sample of "D/Vision" below. The Never Story is all set to drop this Friday (March 10).
