Eminem is hard at work, putting the final touches on Slaughterhouse’s Shady Records debut album, Welcome to: Our House. That being said, Slim Shady is still carving out the time to work on his next solo album.

“Well, right now, I’m finishing everything up on the Slaughterhouse album and I’m kind of getting into my next record a little bit,” Em told New York City’s Hot 97 host Peter Rosenberg on Thursday morning (May 24). “I’m starting to toy [with the next album], yes.”

Earlier this month, Royce da 5’9” –Slaughterhouse member and one of Eminem’s closest friends– told XXLMag.com that his Bad Meets Evil partner-in-rhyme was still cooking up solo heat in addition to helping add magic to Welcome toOur House.

“Marshall is always working,” Royce said. “He’s always recording. Never think he’s taking a break. He’s not that type of dude. He’s always working. I never met a dude like that. He’s a machine. He’s working every single day.”

Royce added that the camaraderie between Em and Slaughterhouse is pushing Em even further lyrically, if that’s possible.

“When we get in the studio, we push each other,” Royce said. “Number one, he’s one of my closest friends, so for him to be so involved at this level at this point in his career…I think he ran across four dudes that got him excited again to do a project. When Marshall wants to do something, he does the fuck out of it and that’s what he’s doing with our album. He’s that into it.”

Back in February, Crooked I told XXLMag.com that Eminem was doing everything from mixing, producing, arranging and rapping on Welcome to: Our House, even calling him the “fifth member of Slaughterhouse.”

Royce added that it’s up to Slaughterhouse to run with it and capitalize from here.

“Now that Marshall shined the light on us and he has a broader audience, it’s up to us to step up to the plate and show people we can do damage,” he said.
